explosion
Sep0
OK… so yeah, i was sitting at my computer this evening and the pin value on my CO2 tank started leaking and made a hella loud sound. Scared the living sh*t out of me! I had an on/off switch installed on my tank about two/three weeks ago now this happens. God damn it! The only place where i can get this fixed (”locally”) is in Eugene. Shit.
Anyway… the break down:
The pin valve on a CO2 tank keeps the compressed CO2 in the tank. There is a safety mechanism on the side of the valve that will explode in the event that the tank is over pressurized or if something goes wrong with the valve. If the safety goes off, the CO2 is released from the tank at high velocity and the tank becomes REALLY REALLY FREAKIN COLD!!! -
Tonight… well, it looks like it just went wrong, cuz that tank was only half full!!!
End results:
CO2 filled my brothers room… wow, i got light headed entering
the tank tipped over and froze my brothers desk
the tank needs to have the pin valve replaced
the tank needs to be rehydrotested (re-certified for use)
Cost to replace: $19.99
Location: Eugene, OR
Drive time: 1 hour, 5 minutes each way
shit.
