New Site, new layout
Dec1
Okay, so I’ve managed to convert all of my posts over to the new site after about 2 weeks of fiddling. I thought I would just like to give a quick tour of the new site and how things work here.
First off, you’d probably noticed is that this is no longer just a long list of blog entries. Instead, the main page only shows a maximum of two entries with the first 90 or so words. If the post extends past this length, click on the “Read on” link in the bottom right corner of the post to continue reading the story. You can also click on the “comments” link (it’ll read either as “no comments”, “1 comment” or “# comments”, depending on how many comments I’ve received on it). All posts are categorized in one or more Categories.
Secondly, the bottom of every page contains three columns. The first column shows the 10 most recent entries that I’ve entered in to my blog as well as some of the blog rolls that I have set up. The second column shows the entries archived by month. It’s only showing the last 12 months of entries at this time, but I hope to fix this and get it to show all of the month archives. The third column lists all of the categories that I have used for my entries. Clicking on the items in the second and third columns will display the entries associated with that month/category.
The bottom of each page still has the comment forms. I’m requiring you to at least enter your name and e-mail address for the time being. I’ll also add a random image/word generator in the near future so I won’t receive all this comment spam.
Note: It is important to let the page fully load for all of the entries that are a photo album. If you don’t let it load all the way first, you’re missing out on some cool features!
So what are you waiting for? Click, read and comment!
