The Pursuit of Happyness

I saw the Pursuit of Happyness with Chantelle. It was a great movie, based on real events and was very well done. The ending was a little short, though. You have to see it.

I liked the quote where Chris [Will Smith] said “Happiness isn’t something that you can obtain, but it’s something that you must pursue.” I found the internal monologe to be entertaining as well, such as “This is the part of my life where I was being stupid. Trusting my bone density scanner to some hippie girl.” Great movie, but its one of those movies were you only see it once.

Warning… geeky facts about the Rubik’s cube below!

Factoid 1: The Rubik’s cube has approximately 4.21239*1036 combinations. This should break down to (correct me if I’m wrong!):

54!/((8*3)*(9!)6) = 4.21239*1036

Merry Christmas everyone!

It’s been a few days since my last post. Since then, I’ve:

  • Gone snowboarding with Lam and two of his co-workers @ Meadows
  • Hung out with my friends at Nat’s party
  • Bought a neato Christmas present for myself. You’ll see what it is in a few days. :p
  • Caught up on my TV shows (Bones, House M.D., Lost, Scrubs) and also watched Hitch for kicks

Dumb Tax Laws… you’d get a kick out of this one.

So I’m looking for some info on what I have to declare as income for new tax season, and I found these lines from the US Tax Laws… If you sell drugs, you must report it on your 1040! Now, seriously, of all the drug dealers out there, who in their right mind would report their illegal drug earnings to the IRS?

Illegal income. Illegal income, such as money from dealing illegal drugs, must be included in your income on Form 1040, line 21, or on Schedule C or Schedule C-EZ (Form 1040) if from your self-employment activity.

Do you recognize a difference between 0.002 dollars and 0.002 cents? Please tell me yes that you do.

0.002 dollars is 2/1000 of a dollar or 0.2 cents right? 0.002 cents is 2/1000 of a cent, right? Simple yeah? Well, the people at Verizon don’t understand that! I found this blog entry (and audio and transcript to match) of this guy who is calling Verizon to dispute his bill.

Chantelle and I finally saw Borat! “It’s niiice!” I thought it was funny at times, but it was definately just “so wrong!”

Borat: “In my country, they would go crazy over these two…. not so much her..”

Next up on the list: The Pursuit of Happyness. Who wants to go see that with us?
