It’s WINTER BREAK!
It’s been a while since I wrote here…many things have happened in the past month. For one, I’ve moved my website from the engineering servers over to my 1and1.com account. I’ve been trying to get all the bugs worked out before I change the site layout. www.thomasng.org points to www.thomasng.net (on 1and1.com) now.
Dead week was absolutely aweful. There were so many projects and homework assignments given to us. The teachers were insane. Homework for CS411, ECE323, ECE472 and LARGE projects for all of those classes as well. Our ECE472 teacher was a dick, he assigned homework DURING dead week.
Finals week was much better (suprisingly). Geoff, Erin and I basically lived on the 5th floor rotunda from December 4th to December 9th. It was an interesting week I tell you. Spending 10+ hours a day at the library. Sounds like fun doesn’t it? A large group of our friends spent Thursday night in the rotunda – it was Erin, Geoff, Josh, May, Uyen, and I. We were all goofing off and studying. Fun times 
Just like “one big disfunctional family” 
FINALS! ECE472 and CS411 finals were on Mon Dec 6th, and the CS411 final the following morning. Those tests were easy I guess. The ECE323 final was Friday of finals week (ugh). We all went to Clod’s (the bar across the street) after our final and invited our ECE323 teacher to come too. That was cool
Grades came out earlier this week. Didn’t do bad at all!
ENTERTAINMENT: That same day, I saw Oceans’ 12…. don’t see it! The movie was funny, but the story line wasn’t as slick as the first one. That night I went to a LAN party over at Pete’s and played a lot of Rainbow Six: Raven Shield and Alien vs. Predator.
Came home Saturday, then drove back down to Corvallis with May on Monday for a senior design meeting. Went to dinner at Tarntip that night, and we (Simon, Nolen and Xuong) watched May make apple pie yum . Drove home Tuesday afternoon.
I’ve been working on moving my website since then and well… i guess that catches up to the present.

So yeah, its Friday. Another day of work. I woke up late (seems to be the norm now) got to work around 9. Geez, the morning did not seem to end, nor did the hours after lunch. I ended up leaving after only working about 6 hours today. I began zoning out and just stared at my computer screen. I hope they didn’t notice that I was gone.
I’M IN PORTLAND THIS WEEKEND! I hung out with Jill for a lil bit, and brought some boxes over so she can pack up some things. She lent me “Dude, Where’s my Country” by Michael Moore. I can’t wait to read it
After that, I caught up with Jess and hung out for awhile at Clinton Park. On the way back to her place, a group of 5 or 6 kids, probably no older than 10, asked us for some cigarettes. That’s just messed up. Regardless of who you are, or where you live, it’s just wrong to have a small kid smoking. I told him that it will kill him someday and asked what his age was… his answer “43″. Sure it is. I fear that their generation will see more and more issues will drug abuse. Lets hope that’s not the case. It would be such a waste of potential talent.
We saw what’s got to be the funniest thing ever this evening: A black van that said “Mother’s Milk — Home Lactation Services.” Umm, yeah, took a double take on that one.
Umm… other random things:
Thursday: I saw Zatoichi with Pete and some of his friends. It’s a remake of an old Japanese movie about a old and blind swordsman. Although not entirely a mainstream movie, I thought it was pretty cool. This will be added to the list of movies that I’ve seen this summer.
Oh yeah… same day: Before the movie began, I walked around downtown Portland and went into Rite Aid. I was standing in line to purchase a pack of gum when this homeless guy ran over my foot with his wheelchair. That FREAKIN HURT!
Saturday/Sunday: I’m helping Jill move.

I wish this weekend wouldn’t end. … but it’s going to be ovr in 14 minutes anyway 
I spent most of Saturday doing nothing, played a lot of doom3 and man, that game is addicting.
I spent most of today (Sunday) with Jill. She finally got a chance to come down to Wilsonville and visit my pad down here. I gave her the grand tour of my place, checked out my work, printed some stuff.
We rented and watched Mystic River over dinner (mmm…. BBQ ). The movie was pretty good. I must say the rolls played by Kevin Bacon, Laurence Fishburne, Sean Penn and Tim Robbins were well played. The story kept my attention. You should see it if you haven’t already. Two ‘thumbs up’ from me.
In other news: Jill and I have decided that I need to take a vacation from it all before school starts. A few days ago, I had this strong urge to travel. So I’m going to do just that — a trip to New York City. More to come on this later, and the where’s, how’s and why’s of it all. Now, who wants to go with me? My mom will freak when she hears about this idea. :-p
Well, it’s 11:52pm now. I think I’m going to head off to bed. With any bit of luck, i’ll make it to work on time.

My mind is so random.
We got puke green with shit brown t-shirts at work today. The right sleeve says Mentor Graphics embroidered on to it. At least go with nicer colors. What were they thinking?!?!
I saw “I am Sam” this evening. A good movie — highly recommended
There are 4 bug bites on my right leg. It’s swollen and hurts like no other. Kinda freaky considering I’ve been wearing pants the whole day.
I wanted to drive to the beach today.
