Ride notes:

  1. Not bad at all for a day that started with a thought of hitting 50 miles, but realistically only doing 30… then it gradually increased to 40, 50, 60, 61.2, finish. :)
  2. The ride out to Kansas City is pretty darn nice and flat. 20 miles out. You need to cross US-26, but the traffic thins out at this point.
  3. Currently on-track for a 6 hour ride time century. Need to go sub-six hours of cycling time sometime this season for a new personal record.
  4. I had a slice of apple pie, 2 Clif bars, 5 Clif shots for this ride. Not enough nutrition. Burning fat reserves… though i don’t have much to burn in the first place. Probably destroyed muscle instead… D’oh!
  5. I consumed less than 1.5L of water.
  6. I raced a guy from mile 56 to mile 62 at 25-27 mph. We swapped leads and drafted off of each other. Not bad at all!
  7. I stood outside my house for a few minutes after finishing the ride. I was standing still, but it felt like I was still moving. Yes, trippin’ out.
  8. The Monster Cookie ride on April 25th should be cake.. or should I say Pie? (in honor of Pi day)
