Bridge Pedal 2007 Completed
Aug0
We completed the 2007 Providence Bridge Pedal! Unlike the previous three years, it was cloudy today. But thats not too bad. I posted some photos on Facebook. If you have an account, you can view them. I’m not sure how many people actually rode today, but the Providence press release expected over 17,000 cyclists to be on the road and biked over 500,000 miles in a few hours. That’s impressive
Providence Bridge Pedal is the second-largest community bicycle ride in the nation and third-largest in the world. More than 17,000 cyclists are expected to participate in the ride on Sunday, Aug. 12 – and they will pedal more than 500,000 miles on the streets and bridges of Portland.
Portland Bridge Pedal 2006
Jun0
It’s getting to be almost that time of the year again! Biking season is ON! I’ve done the Providence Bridge Pedal for the last two years [2005, 2004] and I plan on doing it again this year. I wrote about the event a few months ago, and well, its time to get going on the training
The 2006 Providence Bridge Pedal will be held Sunday, August 13th. You can do the 6, 8, or 10 bridge ride (14, 24, and 36 miles, respectively). Registration is $25 for adults if registered online ($35 at the event). Groups of 5 or more can receive a $5 discount per adult rider. I’m doing the 10 bridge (36 mile) ride again this year. The route map for this ride can be found on the Providence Bridge Pedal website… or [here].
A portion of this years proceeds will benefit the Women and Heart Disease Program. Do the ride, it’s for a good cause. For more information, and maps, check out: http://www.providence.org/bridgepedal. Let me know if you’re planning to do this, we can form our own team.
