OK, lets get these end of week posts back on track. Here’s the weekend recap from Christmas through today, the 27th.
Friday Dec 25th – Christmas day cycling – 18.3 miles, 1hr 10minutes. [Ride info]. Had dinner with the parents in PDX. Secured some black tea
Saturday Dec 26th – Went snowboarding at MHM after dark with Javier, Chad and Jim. The runs were well groomed. Photos have been posted on Facebook.
Later that night, I started to plan out the major cycling rides for 2010. Some invites have already been sent out on Facebook (sorry for all of the spam). The ride events that I plan on doing this year are listed below. Note that most of these rides are for a good cause, I encourage you to participate!

Of course, there will also be a bunch of random rides after work and on the weekends.

End of weekend recap Dec 18th – Dec 20th, 2009
So this is a tangent on what i normally do. I figure since my last post was just of the week day, I should have a followup post about the weekend
December 18th – Got dinner at Panera Bread w/Jess – Chicken noodle soup in a sour dough bread bowl, with a beget on the side. Then Starbucks for tea / coffee. Good way to start off a snowboarding weekend. Drove into PDX starting at 7, left PDX around 8:30 with Simon, Chao, Kedy. Stopped by Popeye’s for a second dinner – good stuff! It’s been a while since I’ve stopped at a Popeye’s. I think the last one that I went to was in Troutdale 3-4 years back.
We got into Government camp around 10pm. I found out that Felicia Day commented on my blog post regarding watching the episode of ‘Lie to Me’ with her guest starring. Had to share that point with everyone. Pretty cool!
December 19th – A super rainy start for the day. Most of my gear got soaked through.
My core gear was still dry, but the snowboarding pants, crash pads, socks and boots were drenched. Not a fun way to spend a day on the mountain. We found a set of jumps in the Mitchel Creek area and went through those a few times. The rain let up towards the end of the afternoon and we explored the backside of the mountain on Shooting Star and HRM. I crashed pretty good while going down on HRM. I caught the edge of my board and started flipping over, knocked my knee into the snow pretty good. When we got back to the cabin, it really hurt going up and down the stairs. Not a good sign. Took several ibuprofen to help relax things a little, and just hope for the best for Sunday. Stupid knee.
We spent some time on the back side of the mountain with the new gear and the Circuit-R board checked out pretty nicely. Last thing we did for the day was hit up the large terrain jump — landed both times, cleared it on my second attempt, piece of cake. We went to the Roadhouse in Gresham for dinner.
Ugh. I got home, unpacked my gear and started the laundry, washed the dishes and cleaned up around the house. So much work to do! The kitchen, 2nd floor bath, floors are good to go. However, the wood floor cleaning product has some really obnoxious fumes. I currently feel lightheaded and I want to vomit
. Hopefully all of this airs out by tomorrow so people won’t be inhaling that Monday night. Can’t wait to make dinner for people again!

First trip to Mt Hood Meadows this season
Nov0
First boarding trip this season at Mt Hood Meadows. The snow and weather wasn’t great, but it turned out OK when the sun broke free from the patchy clouds!

More photos and videos to be posted soon.
Mt Bachelor for MLK Weekend!
Jan0
[This entry is a stub and will be edited... I'm really tired right now and thoughts aren't complete, I'll edit this post soon]
I spent the MLK weekend down in Sunriver/Mt. Bachelor for some good snowboarding! We stayed at a 5-bedroom cabin with 22 or so people and it was fun.
I got off of work around 2 on Friday, drove into Portland, picked up Simon and started to drive down to Salem. Chantelle saw me driving down 39th and Powell, it was random!
We picked up Connie and Jess, then drove the remaining 147 miles to our lodge in Sunriver. We found out that there is a 11 Tumalo (Ln, St, Ct) in Sunriver and Bend!
It was cold Saturday morning in Sunriver, Mt Bachelor was suprisingly warmer. On Sunday, it was the opposite!
Photos will be uploaded when I get a chance!
This is year two (of who knows how many) for making it to Mt. Bachelor for the MLK weekend. Last year, it was our group of 5 and EPIC group from OSU and UO.
The Last Few Days
Jan0
So what’s new? Not a whole lot. Work, snowboarding and hanging out with friends are the norm
Friday Jan 5th: We watched Accepted with Chantelle, Christen, Katie, Natasha and Troy.
Saturday Jan 6th: Went snowboarding up at Meadows. I drove myself up there, but boy, it was worth it!
Sunday Jan 7th: Laying low for the day to rest up and prepare for a long week of work.
Monday Jan 8th: Not a horrible Monday at work. One of my test cards work!
